Welcome Home.
Home Clay Studio is about much more than pottery. We use the medium of clay to connect to each other and to build a deeper appreciation of our shared humanity, offering classes, community events and workshops. In addition, our studio access program provides flexible access and support to emerging practitioners.

Led by resident ceramics artist and educator Anne Sherman, Home Clay Studio is located in residential Footscray on the unceded lands of the Eastern Kulin Nation.

Anne is a great teacher. She has been super patient with me and really supportive of individual learning styles, allowing the time and space to make mistakes and integrate the learning. She supports everyone to learn at their own pace. Anne brings a really thoughtful, considered and ethical approach to her work and I've really appreciated her insights.

Working with Anne is amazing, as she has a wealth of knowledge and experience. I have learned so much, and been supported and encouraged to explore creatively in ways I'd not been brave enough to do before. Anne has great insights into all the stages of making.

Anne's creativity paired with her decades of experience in the medium ensure the students have beautiful and successful projects by the end of the term or even by the end of a two-hour class! It's inspiring to see the way she imparts her enthusiasm for the art form to students.
